Most
of our government officials with pending corrupt cases in courts with
law enforcement agencies who want to align with the current “wind of
change” should first return the loot in their possession so as not to be
seen as mockers of democracy. The biblical account of Zacchaeus has a
significant role in this matter today in our nation, especially as it
relates to funds mismanagement and the recent return of part of the loot
by some top leaders.
Zacchaeus repented, decided to make
amends because his defrauding deeds denied others their comfort and
entitlement, he saw the ugliness of self-centredness and remorsefully
restituted his loot even in double portions without being compelled. The
President-elect should check out his advisers; are they the same people
recycled year in, year out?
