OAAN to reward practitioners

The Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria is set to reward creative excellence in the Out-of-Home sub-sector of the economy.
The programme targets practitioners and creative brains behind impactful and meaningful outdoor adverts in the country in the past one year and seeks to reward them in various award categories.
According to OAAN president, Charles Chijide, the event tagged, ‘be bold’ is an exhibition and poster awards which started in 1997 as a way of promoting and rewarding excellence in the out-of-home sub-sector of the Nigerian economy.
According to him, the 2015 posters awards will be in 13 categories including dairy food and beverages, alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, financial services, public service/real estate, electronics/electrical, automobile, accessories, household products, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, information and computer technology as well as Grand Poster and Legend of Out-of-Home.
He said, “As it is evident from the categories, we have tried to create opportunities for all the sectors of the Nigerian economy. Our focus however is primarily on those sub-sectors that regularly engage our platforms to advertise their brands.
To ensure that the event is highly successful, we have put in place a poster awards committee led by the immediate past president, Otunba Kole Ademulegun.”
He added that the event would commence with a stakeholders’ breakfast meeting and an interactive forum which would hold the day before the main event.
According to the OAAN president, the panel of judges will be made up of leading professionals and practitioners in the different sectors relevant to advertising practice in the country.
