This
message should be treated as a distress call to both the Federal Roads
Maintenance Agency and the Ogun State Government. The 2km stretch of
road, between the tipper garage at Ijako and Conoil filling station,
along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, has become a theatre of the absurd.
lt takes about 40 minutes from Abeokuta
to arrive tipper garage, but to get to Conoil junction may take another
four or five hours, no thanks to all the factories and companies
situated on both sides of the road.
Their customers’ trucks have completely
damaged the shoulders of the road. The companies are unwilling to
shoulder the minutest repairs on the road. Can’t something be done by
the relevant agencies of government?
